Buffaloes forward Fat Moses Watmon has been handed a five-match suspension following an incident during the Kabale 7s Men’s Final, the penultimate round of the 2025 Uganda National 7s series which happened over the weekend.
The decision was made under World Rugby Law 9.12, which prohibits physical and verbal abuse.
World Rugby Law 9.12 states A player must not physically or verbally abuse anyone. Physical abuse includes, but is not limited to, biting, punching, contact with the eye or eye area, striking with any part of the arm, shoulder, head or knee(s), stamping, trampling, tripping or kicking.
Watmon’s suspension comes at a critical time for Buffaloes, who have been in strong form on the circuit.

In Kabale, forwards Douglas Musoke, Moses Olweny, and Watmon himself were central to their dominance in collisions and turnovers, while backs Ronald Ogwang and Aziz Karim kept the attack sharp in the tournament eventually overpowering Walukuba Barbarians 14-12 in a thrilling final at Kabale Municipal on Sunday.
Their performance secured the Kabale title, adding to an earlier win in Gulu and a runner-up finish in Entebbe.
Those results have lifted Buffaloes to second place in the National 7s Series standings.
With their home leg, the Buffaloes 7s, now up next, they face a steep challenge, only a tournament victory combined with a slip-up from leaders Walukuba Barbarians will keep their title hopes alive.
