The DBA Futures Cup Dream Team has been officially named ahead of their highly anticipated tour to Uganda, marking a significant milestone for junior rugby development.
During their time in Uganda, the squad will play three matches, offering them a chance to refine their skills while being rewarded for their dedication and hard work on the field.
This Dream Team is a unique selection, bringing together top players from all seven regional teams that compete in the annual DBA Futures Cup. The squad represents Kenya’s diverse rugby culture, featuring players from public schools, private international institutions, and rugby academies.
Before departing for Uganda, the team will undergo a two-night pre-tour training camp at St. Christopher’s International School. The journey itself will mirror the classic junior rugby tours of the past, with the squad traveling by bus through the Rift Valley and Western Kenya before crossing into Uganda. Along the way, they will take on some of the best junior rugby teams in the region, making the experience both competitive and enriching.
For most of the players, this will be their first trip outside Kenya, making it a memorable experience both on and off the pitch.

This tour is a major milestone for DBA Africa in its mission to nurture young rugby talent. International exposure will not only enhance the players’ skills and confidence but also introduce them to different styles of play, preparing them for higher levels of competition.
DBA Africa aims to create a strong pathway for these players, with hopes that many will go on to represent Kenya at elite levels, further strengthening the country’s rugby legacy.
The team will be under the guidance of experienced Kenya Cup coaches Patrice Agunda and Amady Diallo. The squad’s captain will be announced during the pre-tour camp.
“This historic tour has been made possible thanks to the Ugandan Rugby Union, which extended an invitation to the DBA Futures Cup Dream Team, further strengthening the rugby ties between Kenya, Uganda, and DBA Africa,” DBA said in a statement.
Special appreciation was extended to Sadam from The Kampala Giants and Kyadondo Academy Team Manager, whose dedication played a key role in making the tour a reality.
Beyond Rugby: A Multi-Sport Experience
In addition to the rugby fixtures, the tour will also feature a showcase event for the DBA Kampala Lacrosse Academy, which will play a curtain-raiser match ahead of the rugby games. This initiative highlights DBA Africa’s commitment to multi-sport development, creating more opportunities for young athletes across the region.
