Philip Wokorach, the Ugandan rugby sensation, has swiftly transitioned to Orleans Rugby Club in France following his departure from ASBC Bedarrides.

The club expressed immense enthusiasm over his arrival, highlighting his prowess in both 7s and 15s rugby.

At 30 years old, Wokorach boasts a storied career, having spent 16 years with Kyadondo Heathens and representing Uganda in numerous international fixtures.

His tenure at ASBC Bedarrides was marked by outstanding performance, tallying an impressive 434 points over two seasons.

Expressing his excitement for the new chapter at Orleans Rugby Club, Wokorach emphasized the club’s ambitious vision and recent successes.

“I chose RCO for the club’s ambition, intriguing project, and their excellent recent season,” said Wokorach.

Previously, Wokorach showcased his talent with Kenya Cup champions Kabras Sugar Rugby before making his move to France in 2019.

He’s a three-time Africa 7s champion, leading Uganda to victories in 2016, 2017, and 2022. His international impact was further highlighted at the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens in San Francisco, where he scored 30 points, including four tries.

Despite his commitments, primarily centred around major tournaments in France, Wokorach remains active in initiatives such as the PW15 Foundation.

Founded to empower young talents, the foundation underscores his commitment to nurturing future rugby stars.
