Kabras RFC, Nakuru RFC, Menengai Cream, and Zuri made a strong start in the Great Rift 10s tournament, keeping their semi-final hopes alive with impressive two victories at Nakuru Athletic Club.
In their opening match in pool C, Kabras RFC narrowly edged past Strathmore Leos with a hard-fought 7-5 win. Despite Strathmore Leos taking an early lead with the first try of the match, Kabras staged a comeback when Rayvone Ambale, coming off the bench, made a decisive break through the defence to score, securing the victory for his team.
Ambale impressive for Kabras RFC
In their second encounter, Kabras faced Egerton and emerged triumphant with a commanding 24-0 win. Despite facing two sin bins, Kabras showcased their resilience, with Ambale once again making significant contributions, off the bench scoring two tries and converting one. Additional tries from Dan Angwech and Hillary Salano sealed the comprehensive victory.

Meanwhile, Nakuru RFC secured two wins in their opening matches, defeating NYS Spades 28-0 and Molo 29-5. Hanningtone Wabwire, Felix Okoth, Paul Lusesi, and Amos Obae were among the try-scorers in their dominant performances.
Menengai Cream also displayed their prowess with two victories, first defeating Catholic Monks 19-0 before securing another win against Kabarak. Zuri had a successful start to their campaign, overpowering Molo 27-0 in their opener and then claiming victory against NYS Spades in their second match.
