Former KRU Championship side Zetech Oaks have unveiled a new kit ahead of the National Nationwide knockout stage.

The kit features a blue colour scheme with a yellow strip on the collar , stockings and sides of the shorts. The jersey displays the Zetech logo on the left, the manufacturer’s logo Morani on the right, and the back of the jersey showcases the player’s number along with the University’s slogan all in white.

The kit was presented by the Vice-Chancellor Professor Njenga Munene in the ceremony.

Zetech lead by head Coach Ramsfield Matekwa and Team Manager Nicholas Mutwiri topped the Central Region Nationwide standings after accumulating 36 points, securing seven wins and a draw. They boasted the best attack, amassing 253 points, while only conceding 37 points.

In their journey to the Central region final, they eliminated Chuka before clinching an 18-9 victory over MKU Thika. Kenya Prisons were awarded a walkover in the third-place finals by Chuka University.

Now, they set their sights on the 2024/25 KRU Championship qualification pathway, which will see Nationwide teams traveling outside their regions to compete in the pre-quarterfinal fixtures.

Zetech Oaks round 16

Zetech Oaks will host the Coastal region third-place finishers, NYS Eagles, while TUM Marines, leading in the Coast, will host Rift Valley region third-place finishers, Egerton Wasps.

Other matchups include Project 61, the Rift Valley region champions, hosting the Nairobi region third-place finalist, Kenya Prisons, and Western Region second runners Shamberere facing Moi University Arsonists.

Western region champions Sigalagala National Polytechnic will host the Nairobi region second-place team MKU Thika, while Nairobi Region champions the Stallions will host the western region second-place team Kisii RFC, and Makueni RFC will host Maseno University.

Kilifi Rugby Club will face the AP Warriors in their away Pre-quarterfinals match.
