Makueni RFC squad to face Stallions

Makueni RFC’s head coach, Kennedy Muendo, has finalized his 24-man squad in preparation for the Nairobi Nationwide semifinal clash against Stallions on March 23, 2024, at Kabete Poly, kicking off at 3 PM.

The team welcomes back Maxwell Obonyo, Castro Odhiambo, and freshman Olwande as they gear up for this crucial encounter, having secured their spot in the quarters with a hard-fought 33-31 victory over Machakos University.

Leading the charge in the front row will be Paul Muteti as loosehead prop, supported by John Irungu at hooker and Ibrahim Franklin at tighthead prop.

In the second row, Clyde Ochieng and William Awillo will provide stability as locks, bridging the connection to the back row composed of Dennis Odhiambo as blindside flanker, Kilian Anyangu as openside flanker, and Dominic Sande at number 8.

The half-back partnership will feature Benard Mulei at scrum-half and Emmanuel Mwau at fly-half, with Mwau also taking on the role of vice-captain. Joseph Nzomo and Castro Odhiambo will form the center pairing, while Swalla Collins and Sammy Ochieng will showcase their pace on the wings. Joseph Kilonzo will anchor the backline from the full-back position.

The bench will offer valuable depth and experience, with Dennis Ochieng, Titus Kasili, Bill Bunyasi, Louis Sawaya, Rian Odhiambo, David Ng’ang’a, Maxwell Obonyo, Freshman Olwande, and Eddie Masinde ready to make an impact when called upon.
