Kisii school win Mang’u Opens

Nyanza Region defending champions Kisii School won the Mang’u Opens tournament held  at Mang’u School on Saturday and Sunday.

The tournament which attracted schools like Lenana high school, Mang’u high school and many more saw the tournament having new winners.

This year was the first time that Kisii school took part in the tournament and won it on their first attempt.

Kisii school under the tutelage of fast rising coach, Lee Arstone, are hoping to defend their regional championship.

In the pools Kisii school faced off with Kiambu and Lenana.

They proved their dominance by winning convincingly.

With this, they booked their slot in the quarters again playing with their pool counterparts Kiambu before meeting off with Alliance high school defeating them 22-3.

They met off with tournament hosts, Mang’u high school in a final that seemed to tough for them, however, they managed to manoeuver their way in that final.

The player of the tournament, Bejil Ochieng’ , managed to go past the white wash two times ensuring that they had that deserved win. The game ended 12-5.

Their coach Lee Arstone, speaking to the Scrummage Africa after the game, said that they are well prepared for this season.

“My team is well prepared and what I can assure you is that we have a better team than that of last year so you should expect much from us.” Arstone revealed.
