ESS Wrap: KCB, Oilers win big, Kabras II labour past Quins II

KCB II were the biggest winners in ESS matchday 8 after they drubbed Kisumu RFC II 79-0

KCB Rugby back-rower Persian Kolian was a man on a mission as he crossed over on five occasions. Persian Kolian scored KCB’s first try early on converted by Smith Muhoya for a 7-0 lead.

Ishmael Gorio was on target for Cubs second try before Kolian Persian got his brace. Trevor Arina converted Persian’s try to stretch the lead to 19-0. Wing Gabriel Namusasi scored Cubs fourth try with Arina converting for a 26-0 score.

Just before the halftime whistle, Edwin Otieno burged over to give side a commanding 31-0 lead. After the break, the Cubs picked up from where they left when Elvis Namusasi scored his first try of the match. Persian Kolian grabbed his hat-trick after he was unleashed in space by Elphas Otieno to stretch their lead further, Arina converted for a 43-0 score.

Eli Mukaizi, Mickey Wanjala, Elphas Adunga and Trevor Arina also crossed over for the Cubs to blow away Kisumu II 79-0.

On the other hsnd, Kabras II were forced to work hard for a 17-14 win over Kenya Harlequin II at RFUEA grounds. KU Blak Blad II were too good for CUEA Monks II as they defeated them 34-18.

Menengai Oilers II winning streak continued on Saturday as they handed Nondies a 20-5 defeat at the Refinery, Nakuru.

Leos II were beaten by Mwamba II 29-25 in a closely contested match at the Cage, Madaraka.
