Blak Blad beat Catholic Monks in Kenya Cup round 8

Kenyatta University Blak Blad emerged victorious over Catholic Monks with a score of 28-22 in their home ground.

The event started with the Monks getting an early lead before Blak Blad’s full-back  Dennis Gitau slotted in a drop goal to draw the level at the seventh minute.

Catholic Monks added three more points through Samuel Omolloto retake the lead after a long run before Blad responded after three minutes with an unconverted try to turn the scored board 8-6.

Monks’ fly half Omollo slotted two drop goals to snatch and widen the lead. This turned the scoreboard 15-8. When the first half drew to an end, Blak Blad added a try which ensured both sides went for a break with a narrow deficit of two.

In the second half, Blad drilled in an unconverted try to retake the lead. Blad’s half-back Daniel Oyoo added a drop goal to extend the lead before the Monks responded with a converted try which saw them snatch the lead again. Their try turned the scored to 22-21.

At the last minute Catholic Monks conceded a penalty which Blak Blad capitalized to get the final seven more points. This enabled Blak Blad to snatch the lead and emerge victorious by 28-22, in the event that took place in their home ground.
