KCB Rugby were too good for Homeboyz as they ran over the deejays for a 77-5 win at the Lions Den, Ruaraka.

KCB ran in 13 tries and once again for a second weekend in a row they had a slow start before finding their groove later on. It was Homeboyz that first got into the scoresheet through their inside center Collins Ochieng for an early 5-0 lead.

KCB would then open the floodgates of tries through a brace of tries early on from Peter Waitere in the 10th and 13th minute. Brian Wahinya succesfully converted Waitere’s tries for a 14-5 score. Moments later, it was Festus Shiasi show that ensued, as the Nairobi School product went over on three occasions to complete a first half hat-trick. Brian Wahinya slotted in only one conversion of the three for 29-5 score.

KCB right wing, Michael Kimwele, would get his name on the scoresheet after he crossed the whitewash to score his team’s sixth try just at the stroke of halftime. The two sides went for the breather leading with KCB leading 36-5.

In the second half, KCB picked up from where they had left as they scored 7 tries to claim a huge win. Captain Griffin Musila went over early in the second half and so was Vincent Onyala, tries Brian Wahinya succesfully converted.

Substitutes Austin Sikutwa and Shaban Ahmed got their tries in the 54th and 62nd minute respectively. Festus Shiasi had his fourth try in the 74th minute before Bob Muhati completed KCB’s try fest with a try at the stroke of fulltime.

This is KCB’s second huge win in a span of 7 days. This is after they hammered Catholic University 79-19 last Saturday in Karen.
