Kabras RFC secured their 10th consecutive victory over Nondies in the Kenya Cup, maintaining a flawless record against their opponents.

The Kakamega-based team, led by coach Carlos Katywa, continued their winning streak with a resounding 40-0 triumph over the Rangers at the Impala Club in the second match of the 2023/24 season.

Kabras RFC impress run

Having previously trounced Kisumu RFC 72-0 in the season opener, Kabras entered the game with confidence, fueled by their history of success against Nondies, having lost only once in their last 10 encounters. On the other hand, Nondies sought redemption after a 45-8 defeat to KCB in their previous outing.

Kabras seized control early in the match, scoring three tries in the first half. Captain George Nyambua opened the scoring, and Ntabeni Dukisa’s successful conversion put Kabras ahead 7-0.

Winger Lamec Ambetsa, making his first start of the season, extended the lead to 12-0 despite Dukisa missing the conversion. Nyambua added the third try, bringing his season tally to four, alongside Derrick Ashihundu.

Brian Tanga orchestrated the setup for substitute Collins Indeche’s try, with Dukisa adding the extras for a 33-0 advantage.

Debutant Griffin Chao, coming off the bench, scored his first try for Kabras, courtesy of a setup by Kenyan International Kevin Wekesa, who also contributed a try after coming off the bench. Dukisa converted the final try, sealing a comprehensive 40-0 victory.

Kabras now joins Oilers as one of the teams with a perfect record, having secured maximum points from the opening two matches of the season.
