Makueni announce squad for Northern Suburbs date

Makueni RFC  coach Ken Munyao has announced the team’s lineup for their upcoming match against Nothern Suburbs in the Nairobi Nationwide 15s.

The game will take place on Saturday, December 9th, 2023 at Catholic University, Karen, and will kick off at 11 am.

This will be the team’s second match following their 16-7 win against Impala Swaras.

The squad has made a few changes with Sammy Ochieng and Max Obonyo replacing injured midfielders Balla Sweny and Joseph Nzomo. Kilian Anyangu will lead the team as captain, with Emmanuel Kilonzo as his assistant.

John Irungau will start at hooker, forming the front row alongside loosehead prop Taitus Kasili and tighthead Paul Muteti. In the second row, Clyde Odhiambo and Lui Sawaya will feature as locks.

Dennis Odhiambo will start as the blindside flanker, with Anyangu as the openside flanker and Elvis Onchiri at number 8.

David Ng’ang’a will be the scrum-half, and Emmanuel Kilonzo the fly-half. Sammy Ochieng and Max Obonyo will play as the inside and outside center, respectively.

Kavita Brian will start on the left wing, linked to the right winger Eddie Masinde by Joseph Kilonzo at fullback.

Makueni’s bench will include William Awillo, Bill Bunyasi, Kevin Barasa, Ibrahim Franklin, Dennis Ochieng, Marcus Munguti, Castro Odhiambo and Ryan Odhiambo.
