Kisumu RFC have appointed Fabian Olando as the interim head coach following the departure of Lawrence Buyachi.

Olando, who previously served as the assistant coach under Buyachi, will take the club’s reins while they search for a permanent replacement for Buyachi.

The club’s secretary, Jaycox Mwavali, as quoted by the Kenya Cup’s official portal, expressed the management’s confidence in Olando’s ability to lead the team on an interim basis.

“The team’s management has entrusted Fabian Olando with the role of Head Coach on an interim basis as we work towards finding a suitable replacement. Fabian is well-acquainted with the Kisumu RFC setup, having previously served as Lawrence Buyachi’s assistant coach. His extensive experience was evident when he recently guided the Kisumu RFC 7s team to an impressive 10th place finish in the highly competitive SportPesa National Sevens Circuit,” he stated.

Olando’s rugby journey began at Kakamega School, and he later had successful stints with KCB Rugby, winning various accolades, including Kenya Cup, Enterprise, and National 7s titles.
