Maseno School have announced their squad that will be seeking to end their nine-year wait for the KSSSA National Rugby 7s title in matches set for Kakamega.
They return to Kakamega for the Nationals 12 years after they beat St Joseph Kitale at Kakamega School to lift the National 7s title in 2011 and will be eyeing back to back titles in Kakamega.

Maseno School finished second in the Nyanza School competition after a 5-0 loss to St Mary’s Yala in the final played at Maranda High School and booked a place in this years games
The 2011 and 2014 7s Champions will be captained by Austine Sandagi and consists of Winstone Ngulu, Ayub Shisia, Aldrine Andaje and Benoni Abok.
Tony Omondi, Emmanuel Shihemi, Alvin Angotee, Dan Karani, Givan Shilibwa, Jacob Onyango and Fidel Patric are on board.
The squad will be coached by Steve Oluoch and Sebastian Makalek. Coach Makalek said:
“We want to end the 8 years absence at the East Africa championship. The boys aka Jambazi team wants to bring some unique and fresh ways of playing the game. We are hopeful that we shall achieve our target. #Sunscorchedrugby #equatorboys,” he told Scrummage Africa.
Maseno will face off competition from Champions Koyonzo High School who will once again battle for the national title to qualify for East Africa games for the second time in a row. They are joined by Vihiga High School and Bungoma.
Menengai High School and Bwake Boys High School will represent the Rift Valley region and
Upper Hill high school and Lenana School represent Nairobi.
The Coastal Region will be represented by the Garashi High School and the Shimba hills school as Alliance High School and Kiambu School represent Central. The Eastern Region will have Kitondo and Kangaru Schools.
