After an exciting day of rugby sevens at the Toulouse 7s, the quarterfinal pairings have been determined for the Cup competition.
The tournament, which is part of the World Rugby Sevens Series, saw 16 teams compete in the pool stages with only eight making it through to the quarterfinals.
For the 10th time this season, Kenya 7s failed to qualify for the quarters and will face Samoa in the Challenge Trophy quarters at 5:12 East African Time.
Cup Quarters
In the first quarterfinal match, Pool D winners Australia will take on Pool A runners-up Canada. Australia finished with nine points in their pool, winning all matches. Canada, on the other hand, had a tougher time in Pool A, winning two of their matches and finishing with seven points.
The second quarterfinal match will see Pool A winners New Zealand take on Ireland. New Zealand dominated their pool, winning all three matches and finishing with the maximum nine points. Ireland, on the other hand, finished second in Pool C.
In the third quarterfinal match, Pool B winners Argentina will take on Pool C runners-up South Africa. Argentina won all three of their pool matches, finishing with the maximum nine points. South Africa finished second in their pool.
The final quarterfinal match will see Pool C winners France take on Pool B runners-up Great Britain. France were impressive in their pool, winning all of their three matches and finishing with nine points. Great Britain, on the other hand, finished second in Pool B with six points after winning two matches and losing one.
The quarterfinal matches are expected to be highly contested, with all eight teams capable of winning and advancing to the semifinals.
