The Namibia Windhoek Draught Welwitschias have announced their squad for the upcoming Mzansi Challenge match against Kenya Simbas at Hage Geingob Stadium in Windhoek.

Composed entirely of local players, the squad includes five players who featured in Namibia’s recent 36-0 victory over the Simbas in the Rugby Africa final, which secured their qualification for the World Cup.

They include Vice captain Danco Burger who will start at fly-half, Gerswin Mouton at full-back and JC Greyling on the left wing. Prince Gaoseb who will lead the team from the number eight position and Jason Benade named among the substitutes.

Lloyd Jacobs, AJ Kearns, PJ Waters, and Hillian Beukes make up the rest of the backline.

In the forwards, Pieter Diergaardt and Max Katjijeko will flank Gaoseb in the back row, with Mahepisa Tjeriko and Johan Luttig in the second row. Andre Rademeyer, Lodewickus Jacobs, and Nelius Thero form the front row.

The Windhoek Draught Welwitschias have had a mixed season, winning just one of their six matches so far. However, they will be looking to build on their recent victory over the Zimbabwe Goshawks and put in a strong performance against the Kenyan visitors.
