Uganda Sevens appoint new captain to replace Michael Wokorach

Uganda Sevens have appointed Ian Munyani as the new captain, taking over from the outgoing captain, Micheal Wokorach

Munyani’s appointment was made public by the Uganda Rugby Union on Thursday in a post on their social media accounts.

The Uganda Rugby Union thanked Wokorach for his outstanding leadership during his tenure as the captain of the Uganda Sevens team.

The outgoing captain played a significant role in guiding the team to many victories and will be remembered for his hard work and dedication. He led the team to Africa Men’s 7s victory as well the World Cup and Olympics.

“Ian Munyani is officially the new captain of the Uganda Sevens team. Thanks to the outgoing captain Micheal Wokorach for being such a great team leader. Your legacy of hard work and commitment will remain,” reads a statement by Uganda Rugby Union.

Ian Munyani appointment comes at time when the side is participating in the Challenger Series as they eye a chance in the promotion playoffs.
