Godwin Kayangwe re-elected as Uganda Rugby Union President

Godwin Kayangwe has been re-elected as the President of the Uganda Rugby Union for his second term.

The annual general meeting, held on April 23, saw the election of a new executive committee that will serve for the next four years.

Godwin Kayangwe beat Kiboijana

Kayangwe won the majority vote of 65, while his opponent Philip Kiboijana received only 8 votes. The other members of the new executive committee include Eric Butime as the Vice President Technical for 2023-2027 with 49 votes, Peter Odong as the Secretary in the 2023-2027 Executive Committee with 50 votes registered, Kennedy Mulindwa as the Treasurer in the new executive with 40 votes, Prossy Nakakande as the Women’s Representative on the incoming executive with 49 votes, and Hon. Andrew Oulanyah as the URU VP Commercial 2023-2027 with 57 votes.

The new executive committee, which will serve for the next four years, will also include Dorothy Nekesa as the Agegrade & Development Representative and Duncan Kirya as the Upcountry Representative.
