Kisii School emerged as the Nyanza Region Schools 15s Champions after securing a hard-fought 10-8 victory against Maseno in the final held at Kisii School.

The National Prescott finalists will now represent the region in the upcoming National Secondary School 15s games scheduled for April at Eldoret Hill School, alongside the likes of Mang’u and Kwale.

In the final, Lee Arstone’s charges managed to score two tries, courtesy of winger Teddy Onkundi and backrower Matrix Matangi, which were both unconverted. Maseno responded with a try Winstone Ngulu and a penalty by Austin Sandagi, but ultimately fell short against Kisii’s strong defense.

Arstone praised his team’s determination and winning mentality, particularly in their matches against Yala and Maseno, which ultimately helped them secure the championship title.

“Despite facing tough opponents, our team’s unwavering determination and winning mentality enabled us to emerge victorious against Yala and Maseno,” he told Scrummage Africa
