Kisii school are Kisii County 15s Champions

Kisii School are the Kisii County 15s champions after defeating Nduru secondary 18-0 in a thrilling final held at the Kisii School grounds.

Kisii dominated the competition, recording impressive back-to-back wins against Cardinal Otunga (29-0), Nyamagawa (28-0), Rioma (24-0), and Igonga (33-0) in the semi-final.

In the final, Player of the Tournament Joseph Gitoi started the scoring for his team with a strong run inside the Nduru 22, for the opening try.

Shortly after, winger Teddy Onkundi scored another try for the team, receiving a cross kick from Edwin Omari.

The third try was scored by John Paul Obiri. The team then extended their lead when Edwin Omari successfully converted a penalty, bringing the score to 18-0.

The Lee Arstone-coached side put up an impressive performance and did not concede a single try throughout the tournament.

Assistant coach Nelvin Lumiti expressed his joy after the game, stating that their aim this year is to cause an upset in the regional and National competition and qualify for the East Africa competitions for the first time.

“Am very happy for the boys,our aim this year is to pull a surprise win the regional cup and go up to the East Africa competitions for the very first time ” he told Scrummage Africa

Kisii School will now represent Kisii County in the upcoming regional competition, and their victory has earned them recognition as a team to watch out for in the tournament.

The team’s impressive display has also been a source of pride for the school .
