Mwamba Women’s rugby team successfully defended their Kenya Cup title, staging a stunning comeback to defeat the Impala Roans by a score of 21-20.

The early proceedings of the match saw both teams trading penalties, resulting in a 3-3 scoreline. However, Impala broke away when their number eight, Mitchel Akinyi, crossed over for a try and Ann Koki converted to give them a comfortable 10-3 lead.

As the game progressed, Diana Kemunto extended Impala’s lead, kicking and gathering to score a try that Koki converted, giving them a commanding 17-3 lead heading into halftime.

It seemed like Mwamba had a mountain to climb to win the game, but they came back stronger and ready for the task in the second half. They scored 19 points to win the clash.
