MMUST rugby club suffered a 15-8 loss to Blak Blad in a Kenya Cup match played at Kenyatta University Grounds.

Despite the defeat, MMUST managed to secure a losing bonus point and have better point differential than Mean Machine and Catholic.

This means that if they can win their matches against Mwamba at home and Catholic Monks and Mean Machine lose on the final day without picking losing bonsues, MMUST will avoid relegation.

Knowing that they could be relegated if they failed to secure any points, MMUST went into the match with Kenyatta University with determination. The first half was closely contested, with both teams separated by only two points at the break.

Eric Cantona scored a penalty that gave MMUST the lead until the 20th minute when Derrick Wechuli scored a try for Blad.

In the second half, Blad’s Obat Kuke scored a try in the 49th minute, and Morris Mutugi added another in the 66th minute to give Blad a 15-3 lead.

Although Cornel Byron scored a try for MMUST, it was not enough to secure a win.

As a result, MMUST will have to wait until the final day of matches to know their fate.
