Kenya Cup log leaders KCB Rugby are set to miss the services of Kenya Simbas forward Patrick Ouko due to injury.

According to the Ruaraka-based team, Ouko sustained a left ankle fracture during a training session on Tuesday and will undergo surgery on Wednesday.

The club expressed support for Ouko, saying “GO PATO!! We wish you a speedy recovery.”

“Hey fam, PAT-MAN-King of Buru, Patrick Ouko sustained a left ankle fracture during training yesterday and is scheduled to undergo surgery later on today so as to start his recovery journey. All we can say is, GO PATO!! We wish you a speedy recovery,” the club announced.

Ouko has been a valuable player for both KCB Rugby and the Kenyan national team, the Simbas. He has represented the Simbas in the Currie Cup, Rugby Africa Cup, and the final Rugby World Cup qualification tournament.

He made his first appearance of the season off the bench against Kenya Harlequin and has since made six appearances with three starts.

Despite this setback, KCB Rugby remain a strong contender for the Kenya Cup title.

They have had an impressive start to the season, winning all seven of their matches and earning 35 points.

The club will aim to secure maximum points in the regular season to secure a place in the semifinals and boost their chances of regaining the title.
