Kenya 7s have been knocked out of the Sydney 7s Cup contention after losing 33-0 to New Zealand in the second Pool B match played on Saturday.
Shujaa went to this match after a false start in their opener against South Africa where they lost 31-5. The match against the current World 7s Series Leaders was not different either as they once again conceded three tries in the first half and two in the final half to ship in 33 more points.
First half tries
Akuila Rokolisoa who has been outstanding for the New Zealanders scored the opening try after three minutes of play and converted his own try for a 7-0 lead.
The lead stretched a minute later when Sione Molia joined the scoresheet with unconverted try that put the side 12 points up.
Dylan Collier scored the final try of the half in the seventh minute with Rokolisoa’s conversion ensuring a 19-0.
In the second half, the men in black got more tries in the 12th minute through Roderick Solo before Lewis Ormond sealed their victory with Ngarohi McGarvey-Black adding the conversions.
Kenya 7s will face Uruguay in the final match of the day at 7:27 am as they seek to pick first win of the competition.
