SC Pirates continued their resurgence in the KRU Championship with a 24-8 victory over Shamas Foundation in a round six fixture at Seacrest Grounds in Diani.

The hosts, under the guidance of Kevin Amiani, took a commanding 17-0 lead at halftime thanks to tries from Ken Omaset, Joseph Musyoki, and a penalty try, as well as restricting the visitors to their own territory.

In the second half, Shamas responded with a penalty to close the deficit to 17-3. However, Pirates quickly regained control and increased their lead to 24-3, with Halfback Ali Rashid scoring a try and Elias Gitonga adding the conversion.

Despite the visitors pushing for more points, they were only able to score one unconverted try in the final minutes, giving Pirates the maximum points.

Former Kenya Cup sides Nondies, Impala Saracens and Kisumu picked impressive wins with Nondies defeating Western Bulls 33-9 while the Gazelles trashed Eldoret 64-9.

Kisumu won 36-16 away to Zetech Oaks.
