Mean Machine pick first win, Kenya Harlequin grab second win

Mean Machine grabbed the first win of the season as they held on to beat MMUST Rugby Club 24-23 at UoN Grounds on Saturday.

Both teams went to the match holding the last two spots on log with Machine having grabbed two points while MMUST had a point having lost their opening four matches.

Mean Machine keen to end their bad run started off strongly and took a 19-6 lead to the break. On return from the break, MMUST grabbed two tries to close the gap to three points but allowed Machine to score the fourth crucial try.

Despite adding a seven pointer, Machine held on to pick a crucial win that now puts the side on seven points after five matches.

At Catholic Monks grounds, Paul Murunga’s Kenya Harlequin registered the biggest win of the weekend. They beat Catholic Monks 45-15.

Its their second consecutive win and boost their chances of making it to the play off this season.
