Oilers include Simbas trio in squad to face Mean Machine

Last season’s finalists Menengai Oilers have unveiled their team set to kick start their 2022-23 Kenya Cup season against Mean Machine on Saturday 26 in Nakuru.

Head Coach Gibson Weru has included three players who were with the Kenya Simbas in the Final Qualifying Tournament into the side.

Timothy Omela starts and will pair Steve Arunga at the centre of the field, with Beldad Ogeta starting on the left wing. Edward Mwaura will make a cameo from the bench.

Davis Nyaundi and Roy Nandwa complete the back-three at fullback and right wing respectively, with Andrew Odero named to oversee scrum half duties. He will pair Tony Oketch who starts at fast five eight.

The pack will be led by Chrispin Shitundo who skippers the side and starts at eight. Brian Ndirangu starts at the openside flank with Tyson Maina completing the back row department at the blindside flank.

Eric Miheso pairs Ibrahim Ayoo in second row with Francis Atiti, Hillary Malweyi and Vincent Mwikali completing the pack at front row.

Desterious Ifedha and Mark Kwemoi and Ian Omoke are among those included on the bench.
