Kenya Simbas Green Team beat the Red Team 33-27 in a thrilling match played at RFUEA Grounds on Saturday afternoon.

The Red team were quick off the blocks scoring a penalty in the opening minutes before the green team responded with an unconverted try. Amon Wamalwa restored the Red team’s lead with a penalty for a slim advantage.

Mukidza, Kubu tries

The exchanges continued as the Green team scored through Veteran Darwin Mukidza’s try and  Jone Kubu added the extras for a 12-6 lead.  The Green Team then broke away when Kubu sliced through the defence to score for a 17-6 lead after Mukidza’s conversion attempt bounced off the posts.

Mukidza sealed the Green’s team first-half scores as he converted a penalty for 20 points.  The green team pulled back with a converted try for a 20-13 scoreline at halftime in favour of the Green team.

In the second half, Mukidza added two penalties for the Green team for a 26-13 lead. The gap was trimmed to six points when Eugene Sifuna crossed over for a converted try for the Red team.

George Nyambua scored at the other end with his try being converted for a 33-20 lead.  The Reds landed a late Converted try but it was not enough to help them close the gap.
