Uganda announce squad for Rugby Africa Cup 2022

Uganda Lady Cranes squad has been announced ahead of the Rugby Africa Women’s 15s Cup 2022 pool B matches scheduled for Muteesa II Wankulukulu.

The squad has Yvonee Najjuma, Peace Lekuru, Charlotte Mudoola, Mary Gloria Ayot and Winnie Atyang included.  Lekuru will skipper the side in the tournament which will run between 25th October to 2nd November.

The pool B matches will feature Uganda, Kenya and Zambia. The lady cranes, the Lionesses, under the tutelage of former Kenya Sevens international Dennis Mwanja and Zambia will be keen to qualify for Pool A.

Uganda will face Zambia in the opener on 25 October while Kenya Lionesses’ first match will be against Zambia on Saturday 29 October.

Kenya and Uganda will renew their rivalry on Wednesday 2 November 2022.

The winner of this competition will be promoted to Pool A for the 2023 tournament alongside South Africa and Namibia.
