Sigalagala win KATTI National Polytechnic Rugby Games in Meru

Sigalagala Men’s and women’s rugby teams have won the KATTI National Polytechnic Rugby Sevens Games held at Meru Teachers Training College.

The Sigalgala Men’s team won 7-5 against Eldoret Polytechnic in the final played on Saturday 1 October 2022. The closely contested final saw the Kakamega-based side score one try through Sagala Kidaha and Brill Esikuri converted for seven points.

To reach the final, the side had an impressive run, winning all their pool stage matches on day one of the competition. On day two, they saw off Kisii following a 38-10 win in the quarters played on Saturday morning.

The side coached by Western Bulls halfback Allan Kasiti was forced to toil past Kitale who held them to a 12-12 draw in regular time before winning the clash in extra time to reach the final.
