Christie 7s defending Champions KCB Rugby, Strathmore Leos, Menengai Oilers and Western Bulls have booked a date in the semi-final of the tournament being held at RFUEA Grounds.

Christie 7s defending Champions KCB will once against face Menengai Oilers in the first Cup semi-final encounter. It will be a repeat of the Kabeberi 7s semi-final encounter which KCB won.

Last weekend’s finalists Strathmore Leos will play against Western Bulls in the second semis.

First/second quarter

The Bankers advanced to the semis for the second time in a row this season as they Impala Saracens 36-0. They are on a 10-match winning run in the National 7s Circuit.

Dennis Mwanja charges scored three converted tries in the first half and got three unconverted tries in the final half to knock out  Impala.

Menengai Oilers also proceeded to the semis for the second time in a row this season as they edged Mwamba 19-12. Oilers scored three tries and converted two for a 19-0 lead at halftime.

Kulabu fought back to score two tries and converted one for 12 points in the second half. Oilers however stood tall to reach the semis once again.

This defeat sees Mwamba’s journey come to an end at the quarterfinal stage once again.

Second/third  quarter 

Strathmore Leos qualified for the last four after defeating hosts Kenya Harlequin 17-10 in the fourth quarterfinal.

A cagey first half saw the two sides play to a 5-5  draw after one unconverted try at both ends.

In the final half, Strathmore Leos got two tries and converted one for 17 points while Quins managed one unconverted try.

Western Bulls reached the first semi-final this season after defeating Kabras RFC 13-12.

Western Bulls scored two unconverted tries for a 10-0 lead at half time.  In the second half, Kabras staged a comeback scoring two tries and converting one for a 12-10 lead.

Bulls, however, had the last laugh bagging a three pointer that saw them win the match 13-12.

Nakuru RFC will face off with Homeboyz in the Challenge Trophy Semis with Daystar set to play Nondies. Jumia Pay Pirates and varsity sides Blak Blad, MMUST, Catholic Monks have dropped to the 13th place playoffs.
