One change for Menengai Oilers ahead of Christie 7s

Menengai Oilers have made one change to their squad that will take part in the Christie 7s set for Saturday and Sunday.

Tony Oketch has moved to the 12-man squad with his place as the 13th player being taken up by Kevin Mburu. Eugene Lubanga is the player who paves way for Mburu.

Captain Davis Nyaundi has been declared fit for action after being replaced on day one of Kabeberi 7s through injury.

Austin Sikutwa who was named in the dream team, Mark Kwemoi, Tyson Maina, Anthony Kibet, Denis Abukuse,Steve Arunga, Amos Onyinkwa, Andrew Odero, Persian Kolian, Roy Nandwa will return to the city for the second tournament having been part of Kabeberi 7s squad that finished third.

Speaking to the Club’s Media Team, Gibu said:

“Preparations this week have been good.Last weekend we had a good tournament, though we didn’t finish where we wanted but coming into this tournament we’re looking to improve on areas we felt we did not do so well to improve on our overall performance at Christie7s.”

“The Boyz are in good shape, they are excited and motivated. They have worked extremely hard in every department we feel we need to improve. I am looking forward to a better performance than the one we had in Kabeberi 7s,” concluded Gibu.

MMUST Rugby Club, Kabras RFC and Nondies will be Oilers group stage opponents.
