World 7s Series standings after Toulouse 7s

Argentina have moved top of the World 7s Series standings following 13 points in the Toulouse 7s played over the weekend.

The 13 points saw the Argentines move to 118 points, overtaking South Africa who have been top of in the past six legs of the 2022 series.

South Africa dropped to second on the standings after a dismal performance that saw them pick just five points in the tournament.

The five points saw them move to 116 points having headed to France with 111 points. The Blitzboks failed to reach the quarters for the first time since Hong Kong in 2013 when they lost 19-7 to Samoa in the group stage.

Australia are third with 110 points after collecting 10 points at the Toulouse 7s.

After reaching the first-ever final in the World 7s Series, Ireland have moved to 88 points and they sit fourth on the standings.

Fiji who have won two titles in this campaign following the Singapore and now Toulouse 7s campaign success have climbed up to fifth with 87 points.

France have 81 points while USA have 80 points. England are on 63 points and are ranked eighth on the log.

Spain have 43 points ranking ninth on the logwith  just two points above Samoa who are 10th.   New Zealand are 11th with 39 points having missed the quarters for the first time in history.

Kenya 7s only collected a point in France and have dropped two places down to 12th on standings. Damian MCgrath charges won one game in Toulouse and the lone pushes them to 38 points.

Scotland, Canada, Wales and Japan occupy the bottom four slots. Two sides are set to be relegated at the end of the season.
