Strathmore Leos have named a strong squad for the second edition of the Ruff N Tuff 7s, with the return of Kenya Simbas back-row forward Bethuel Anami from France providing one of the biggest talking points ahead of Saturday’s tournament at Ngong Racecourse and Golf Park.
Anami is back on Kenyan soil after spending nearly four seasons playing in France, where he continued his development in one of Europe’s most competitive rugby environments. His inclusion adds international quality, experience, and physicality to the Leos pack as they seek to challenge for the title.
The Kenya Simbas loose forward is expected to play a key leadership role in a squad that blends seasoned campaigners with emerging talent.
Also making headlines is the arrival of Patrick Kluivert, who recently parted ways with Kenya Cup champions Kabras Sugar.
Kluivert left the Kakamega-based club earlier this year after featuring in their title-winning setup and now begins a new chapter with Strathmore Leos in the shortened format.
His presence strengthens the forward unit, which also includes Gabriel Ayimba, Samuel Wafula, Shem Okola, Thomas Opio, and Dennis Tubei.
The backline features a mix of pace and creativity led by Amon Wamalwa, Daryl Wendo, Arnold Muita, Elton Amalemba, Morgan Ochiel, Salim Owino, Fitscon Kamulamba, Collins Maina, Chaz Obiero, Hamza Muhaise, and Nahashon Mwangemi.
