Stingerz are the new BingwaFest Nairobi 2.0 champions after grinding out a narrow 7–5 victory over Blak Blad in a tense Men’s Cup Final at Nyayo Stadium
The match was tightly contested from the start, with both teams cancelling each other out in a cagey first half that ended 0–0.
The second half, however, sprung to life. Each side managed to score a try, but the difference came from the kicking. Stingerz successfully converted their effort while Blad missed theirs, handing Stingerz the slim but decisive advantage.
With the win, Stingerz pocketed Kshs 1 million courtesy of sponsors Betika, while runners-up Blak Blad walked away with Kshs 500,000.
Blad’s journey to the final was built on grit and resilience. They opened their knockout campaign on Friday with a hard-earned 14–12 win over National Champions Homeboyz in the quarterfinals.
In the semifinals, they stunned Strathmore Leos 7–5 in another low-scoring thriller to book their place in Sunday’s final.
