The AS Sports Challenge Cup clash between Ofafa Jericho and Mang’u ended in an 8-8 draw, with the two sides sharing the trophy after a hard-fought encounter at the Ofafa Jericho Grounds.

Organized by AS Sports — Kenya’s leading sports apparel company — the event was part of ongoing efforts to boost rugby development at the grassroots level.

The 15s match saw both teams score an unconverted try and a penalty apiece, resulting in a stalemate at full time.

The event attracted notable figures, including Kenya U20 head coach Simon Jawichre and Kenya Simbas back rower Obat Kuke, highlighting the growing impact of AS Sports in the local rugby scene.

Two players stood out in the match and were recognized with Man of the Match awards. Swanya Anaan claimed the honours for Mang’u, while Ofafa Jericho’s Kyle Amisi also walked away with the MVP award. Mang’u’s Peter Njuguna received an AS Sports-branded water bottle for his impressive performance.

Founded by Kenyan international Patrice Agunda, AS Sports has also provided match balls for prestigious tournaments such as the Scrummage Katch 7s, Christie 7s, and Driftwood 7s.
