Kenya cup side Nondescripts RFC are among the teams set to feature in the inaugural Kampala International 7s set for May 31 to June 1, 2025, at Kings Park Arena in Kampala, Uganda.
The tournament is being organized by Ugandan Premiership side Jinja Hippos and promises to be a key regional event in the build-up to the sevens season.
This won’t be Nondies’ first taste of Ugandan rugby action. The club made headlines in October 2023 when they clinched the Kitaka 10s title, edging Uganda 7s champions Black Pirates 5-0 in a tightly contested final held at Legends Grounds.
In that tournament, held in honor of Ugandan rugby icon Edward Kitaka, Nondies went unbeaten and needed just an unconverted try to seal the championship.

Confirming their participation, the club posted:
“We will be in action at the Kampala International 7s on the 31st of May and 1st of June! See you there.”
While more details about the Kampala 7s are yet to be released by the organizers, the tournament is expected to attract top clubs from across East Africa and beyond.
For Nondescripts, the competition will serve as an ideal platform to fine-tune their squad ahead of the 2025 National Sevens Circuit, which begins with the Driftwood 7s in Mombasa on July 26–27 and wraps up with the Dala 7s in Kisumu on September 13–14.
With history on their side and form on their side, Nondies will be looking to make a strong statement in Kampala as they build toward a successful sevens campaign.
