The University of Eldoret (UoE) Trojans, a long-standing presence in the KRU Championship, are set to be relegated at the end of the season following a walkover loss to Mombasa RFC.

The Trojans, who have struggled throughout the season, have only managed to accumulate two points. With the walkover, they can no longer surpass the points tallies of USIU Martials and TUM Marines, sealing their fate in the competition.

In a statement from Mombasa RFC, the club confirmed the walkover:

“Match Update: Walkover Awarded to Mombasa Rugby. We regret to inform our fans and partners that today’s scheduled match against UOE Trojans will not take place. As a result, Mombasa Rugby has been awarded a walkover.”

The statement also included an apology to fans: “We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your continued support. Stay tuned for updates on our upcoming fixtures.”

The UoE Trojans had traveled to TUM Marines the previous weekend and were set to head to back to Mombasa for the second consecutive week.

Their final match of the season will be against JKUAT Cougars, but with no chance of avoiding relegation, the Trojans will now focus on regrouping for the upcoming season.
