Former Western Bulls backrower, Andrew Odhiambo has been elected as the new Jinja Hippos captain following the club’s annual general meeting held on November 9, 2024.
The meeting took place at Damwaters Rugby Grounds, Uganda. Through their socials, Jinja shared their new excom members with Odhiambo replacing David King Wako.
Odhiambo joined the Uganda league in 2023 and he emerged as the top try scorer in the 15s version, playing for Jinja Hippos. He also impressed in the shorter version and featured for Uganda’s emerging 7s in the Safari 7s.

Joshua Wakabi has been elected as the new chairman with Joab Tamiti being elected as vice chairperson as he takes over from Meddy Rwakishaya.
Kenneth Byamukana will be the new treasurer taking over outgoing treasurer David Spenser.
