Uganda Rugby has named a 32-man Under-20 Rugby Cranes squad for the 2026 Rugby Africa U20 Barthés Trophy, which will be held from August 7-15 at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
The squad was unveiled after weeks of preparations that included two trial matches against Tunisia. Uganda won the opening test 20-13 on July 26 before suffering a 37-7 defeat in the second match on July 30.
According to Uganda Rugby, the final squad was selected from a large pool of players who impressed during the school games and the trial matches against Tunisia.

Uganda will compete in the tournament’s Division One alongside Zambia, Madagascar and Côte d’Ivoire. The Junior Rugby Cranes will open their campaign against Zambia on August 7 at 4:00 p.m. East Africa Time, before the two sides meet again on August 11 at 10:00 a.m.
The tournament will feature a new two-tier format. While Uganda, Zambia, Madagascar and Côte d’Ivoire compete in Division One, the Performance Division will see defending champions Namibia, Kenya, Zimbabwe and Tunisia battle for the continental title.
