Bungoma High School were crowned Western Region 15s champions after edging Kakamega School 12-7 in a tightly contested final played in Vihiga County on Saturday.

Bungoma showed their quality on the big stage, becoming the first team to breach Kakamega’s defence with two tries in the regional campaign to qualify for Nationals.

Kakamega had gone into the final without conceding a single try, underlining the significance of Bungoma’s attacking display.

The champions crossed the whitewash twice and added a conversion, while limiting Kakamega to a single converted try in a closely fought encounter.
