List of Kabeberi 7s award winners

The Kabeberi 7s came to a close on Sunday evening with KCB Rugby showcasing their might as they defeated Menengai Oilers 29-7, marking their third consecutive final win post-COVID.

Following the conclusion, the event organizers feted the individual award winners. KCB Rugby halfback Emmanuel Opondo was named Player of the Final.

The halfback was in fine form, scoring a try and setting up Festus Shiasi for another in their significant win over the Oilers. He walked away with Ksh 10,000 from Tujiamini by Sportpesa for being the MVP.

Kenya 7s back Nygel Amaitsa was awarded Top Try Scorer after hitting 10 tries, contributing significantly to Strathmore Leos’ fifth-place finish.

Amaitsa inspired Leos to a top-of-the-table finish on day one and scored four times against Daystar Falcon in the fifth-place semis.

Kenya Harlequin playmaker Amon Wamalwa was recognized as the Top Points Scorer of the tournament having hit 51 points in the tournament.

For the second weekend in a row, Menengai Oilers’ Denis Abukuse was named the Impact Player of the Tournament.

Judith Auma, who scored in sudden death for Impala to secure a win over Mwamba, was named the Most Valuable Player in the women’s category. She received Ksh 10,000 from Tujiamini.

The Most Promising Player of the Tournament was Joseph Odoyo from Mwamba, who bagged the Wayodi Award. In Division II, it was a clean sweep for Zetech Oaks’ Brian Ondego, who won MVP, Top Try Scorer, and Top Points Scorer awards.
