KCB Rugby II held by Kabras II but finish top

Kabras RFC II staged a comeback to secure a 6-6 draw against KCB Rugby II in the final match of the Eric Shirley Shield regular season held at Kakamega Showground.

The match started with KCB Rugby II taking an early lead with a penalty, putting them ahead 3-0. However, Kabras RFC II responded swiftly, leveling the score at 3-3.

Just before halftime, KCB Rugby II managed to add another three points to their tally, leading 6-3 as the teams headed into the break.

In the second half, the game was interrupted by rain, causing a temporary halt. However, play resumed, and Kabras RFC II capitalized on the opportunity, with Eric Cantona’s penalty kick earning them three crucial points, leveling the scores at 6-6.

With the final result, both KCB Rugby II and Kabras RFC II finish the season tied on 51 points. However, KCB Rugby II will clinch the top spot on the league table due to a superior point differential.

Having secured their places in the semifinals with top-two finishes, both teams will enjoy a week of rest before preparing to host their respective semifinal matches.
