KCB rugby batter Catholic Monks to pick biggest win of round 2

Leading 24-16 in the first half, KCB turned on the heat in the second 40, scoring 55 points to win their second match of the season 79-19 over CUEA Monks in a match staged at Catholic University of East Africa-Karen grounds.

The first half saw a competitive start, with the hosts taking an early 9-0 lead through fly-half Samuel Omollo’s precise kicking.

KCB responded with tries from Peter Waitere and Festus Shiasi, but Monks regained the lead with Omollo crossing the try line, making it 16-10.

KCB rallied before halftime, scoring two more tries through Kenya U20 star Andycolle Omollo and captain Griffin Musila, giving them a 24-16 advantage.

The second half witnessed KCB’s dominance as they piled on 55 points. Prop Whilte Mususi opened the scoring with an unconverted try, followed by Vincent Onyala’s try, and Elvis Olukusi’s five-pointer, extending the lead to 44-19.

Nick Okullo, Bob Muhati, and Austin Sikutwa contributed tries, with Sikutwa converting and extending the lead to 65-19.

In the closing minutes, Felix Ojoo and Levy Amunga added their tries, with Sikutwa converting, sealing the match with an impressive 79-19 victory.

This comprehensive win places KCB alongside Kabras, Quins, and Oilers, all of whom have collected maximum points in the first two matches of the season.
