Daystar Falcons put up a stellar performance to collect all the maximum points after defeating newly promoted Mombasa RFC 34-05 in Athi River.

As the first half unfolded Daystar put in three tries through Michael Odhiambo, Patrick Odongo and captain Augustine Owino respectively, the tries were successfully converted by Eddy Wambugu making matters 24-00 before Mombasa managed a try through Henry Omindo making it 24-05 at half time.

Wambugu opened the second half by scoring for Daystar again with a penalty extending their lead to 27-05.

Daystar’s Vice-captain Trevor Opondo had his name on the scoresheet after scoring the final try which was the only one in the second half and the last one of the game, the try was well converted by Wambugu.

Daystar’s Antony Okoyo was yellow carded in the dying minutes of the game but this did not deter Daystar from picking a 34-05 win.
