KCA Sparks, Meru University announce squads for Varsity League match

KCA Sparks coach Walter Omwanga has named his side to face Meru University on 4th November 2023 at JKUAT.

Brandy Olum the blindside flanker is joined in the back row by openside John Josephat and Jackton Etemesi at number 8.

Sparks’ second row entails locks, Desiderius Mubari and Owen Onchiri. Ian Lupere the squad’s captain, gets the nod at hooker packing down with Denzel Ochilo ( loosehead prop) and Cleophas Mbaraka (tighthead prop)

In the backs division fly-half, Owen Ikonye links up with scrum-half Bethuel Mbeki, with centres, Joseph Andewa and David Okwisha.

Gideon Morangi starts at left wing and is joined by right winger Gilbert Ogeto in the back three by Gabriel Juma at full-back.

Mynard Odame , Victor Musau, Lyden Mutwiri, Febian Barasa, Dickson Lwanga, Fidel Kyalo,Abebe Paddy, Peter Tosh and Austin Oduor makes experienced bench.

Meru Wardogs RFC have also revealed their 23-man squad below ahead of the Varsity league match

Frank Onyango will start at number 8 packing together the flankers, Nelson Oyondi and Josephat Mwangai. Wardogs’ second row features Royce Odhiambo and Humphrey Kamau .

On the front row are Martin Gicheha at hooker together with loosehead prop Peter Chums and tighthead prop Diphlex Ochieng.

Kevin Wamukota the fly-half connects Aron Kipto the scrum-half with the centres, Ramon Mshabwa and Festus Wanyeki.

Left winger Lameck Ombeka, is joined to right winger Chris Kipkogei in the back three by Fullback Hassan Burashi.

Meru finishers features, M.Kihia , Wilberforce ,B.Onguso, Edwin, N.Wambua ,F.Ombati, O.Job and V.Mulonzya.
