USIU win Tisap 7s div II, earn promotion to div I

USIU Martials are Tisap 7s Division 2 champions after beating the Eldoret Based team Moi University 21-19 win in the finals.

The USIU side were making their first appearance in the Circuit this season and they have secured promotion to Division 1 of the Kabereri 7s which will be the final leg of the 2023 National Circuit.

The Martials utilized the early chances against Moi University making a 14-0 lead after all their tries were successfully converted.

Moi pulled back through Flavian Otiyo whose try was successfully converted before Humphrey Asirikwa scored a narrowed the gap with a try that was unconverted by Collins Osore to make the score read 14-12.

USIU stretched their lead after a successful conversion of their third try before Asirikwa pulled back for Moi University with his second brace try that was successfully converted to change the score read to 21-19.

In the Semifinals, the Martials proved competitive and narrowly secured a 17-12 win against the Western Region 15s Champions Sigalagala.

Meru RFC will hold the third place in the event after they competitively securing an 08-05 win against Sigalagala.

For the fifth-place finals, Homabay RFC won by 14-07 against the Administration Police Warriors.

MKU Thika will hold the 9th place finals after an easy 32-07 win against Mbale RFC and the Eldoret RFC will hold the 13 position after they secured a 17-05 win against the Northern Suburbs.
