The Western Hurricanes under 15s head coach Edwin Achayo has announced his squad for the upcoming Futures Cup tournament scheduled for July 14 to 16 at St Christopher’s International School in Nairobi.
Assisting Achayo will be Max Adaka, and together they have assembled a talented group of young players from various schools in the region.
Kakamega School team members
The majority of the selected players hail from Kakamega School, a renowned rugby school known for producing exceptional talent.
The Kakamega School representatives include Roykean Chisutia (Center), Shakur Nyongesa (Center)
Jimmy Buchete (Flanker), Samuel Mark (Lock), Adrian Abanga (Lock), Damien Abiud (Prop), Albert Obare (Prop) and David Magero (Fullback).
Additionally, players from Mahiakalo Primary have earned their spots in the squad. Duncan Masai (Center), Eugene Amulaku (Flanker), Benson Raila (Flanker), Maxwell M. Amunga (Lock), Cyril Andati (Scrum Half) and Fidel Mugalizi (Prop).
Completing the team from Rai Kanyaika Primary are Bradley C. Ochieng (Flyhalf), Amimo (Flanker), Emmanuel Ouma (Hooker), Andrew Musongo (Scrum Half), Junior Barrack (Winger), Godwin Odhiambo (Winger) and Ronny Onyango (Eighthman).
The Futures Cup tournament will showcase eight under-15 regional teams, including representatives from Central, Coastal, Rift Valley, two Nairobi sides, two Western sides, and a team from Kampala. Matches will commence daily at 9:00 am, with the final set to kick off on Sunday at 2:30 pm.
