KCB change four, Michael Wanjala to captain side in Driftwood 7s

KCB Rugby have made four changes to the squad that will travel to Mombasa for Driftwood 7s at Mombasa Sports Club on Saturday and Sunday.

Elphas Adunga, Levy Amunga  Jacob Ojee and Elvis Olukusi have been left out of the squad.  Head Coach Dennis Mwanja has called in Eugene Omondi, Eugene Sirima, Trevor Odawa and Derrick Olela to fill their slots.

In Ojee’ absence, Michael Wanjala will captain the side and will be assisted by Isaac Njoroge.  Bob Muhati, Bramwell Kilwake, Arthur Owira, Alex Mulwa, Michael Kimwele, Shaban Ahmed and Geoffrey Okwatch.

KCB are in pool C alongside Kabras RFC, Daystar Falcons and Jumia Pay Pirates. KCB head to Mombasa placed second on the National Seven Circuit standings with 41 points after two rounds.

They have been to both finals, winning Kabeberi 7s. KCB won the 2019 Driftwood edition after beating Impala Saracens 26-21 in the main cup final.

The bankers came from 14-0 down at the breather to win the crown. Shaban Ahmed, Vincent Onyala, Levy Amunga  scored before Ahmed scored the winner.
