Nakuru RFC have unveiled a 20-man squad for the Ruff ‘N Tuff 7s tournament set for Saturday, July 11 at Ngong Racecourse, with captain Derrick Sore leading a balanced side.
The Nakuru-based outfit will be aiming to make a strong statement in the pre-season tournament as they continue preparations for the 2026 National Sevens Circuit.
Sore will captain the side alongside vice-captain Bonventure Opande, with the duo expected to provide leadership in a squad that features several established names.
Among those selected are Josephat Njunye, Wilson Makete, Edwin Anunda, Gilbert Ochieng, Timfox Isikuri, Stephen Arunga, Javan Otieno, Cyprian Ombaso, Josephat Karanja, James Thiong’o, Fidel Wekesa, Graham Shimon, Amos Ouma, Habbakuk Ouma and Joel Mboya.
The squad also provides an opportunity for Otuoma Shikanda, Jensen Nandabi and Emmanuel Opondo, who have all earned places in the travelling party as Nakuru continue to nurture the next generation of talent.
Ruff ‘N Tuff 7s serves as an important build-up event ahead of the National Sevens Circuit, giving teams an opportunity to assess combinations, integrate young players and build momentum before the competitive season begins.
